Linda Kay Klein is an expert in recovery from purity culture and other hallmarks of high-control religion. She works with clients to deconstruct toxic teachings they’ve internalized based on what others have wanted for and from them. She then supports clients to reconstruct a sense of themselves, their bodies, their sexualities, their relationships, and more, enabling them to create lives of their own making.
Linda is sex-positive and non-judgmental. She brings kindness, authenticity, and a conversational tone to coaching sessions. Linda works primarily with women but has supported individuals across the gender spectrum, and people with a broad range of sexual orientations and expressions. Her approach is trauma-informed, creative, and holistic.
Linda is the author of the best-selling book Pure: Inside the Evangelical Movement that Shamed a Generation of Young Women and How I Broke Free. Her work has been featured everywhere from The New York Times to NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross. She is also a sought-after speaker, with two popular TEDx Talks.
Linda has been researching and writing about purity culture for nearly 20 years and is widely considered one of the founders of the purity culture recovery movement.

“Meeting with Linda has been both life changing and life giving. I came to her feeling broken, dirty and unworthy.
Through our time together, I found so much freedom and hope. Linda was able to name and address things that my counselor couldn’t. By the time we stopped meeting, I felt like a new person. I walked away equipped with tools.
Linda is the real deal. I highly encourage you to take the next step and reach out to her.”

She then provided vital perspective shifts, offered transformational resources, and ultimately equipped me to live a more authentic and assertive life.”

In time, I will be introducing group coaching for cohorts of 7 meeting over a 7 month period. Group coaching combines the two most important elements of the purity culture recovery process: deep personal reflection and expansive community-building.
Having facilitated groups for over 20 years, I am uniquely skilled at holding transformative space for people. Through group coaching, I will offer critical insights on purity culture recovery based in my nearly 20 years of experience researching the topic and recovering from it myself as well as personalized support, while cultivating an open, non-judgemental community atmosphere in which individuals offer the same kind of support to one another.
